Payments for Estimation Services

Please see 'General Payment Policy' before reading on.

Estimation service is carried out by minimum 1 and maximum 3 estimation experts. We will try to engage maximum experts allowed by this work type (3 experts) until work SLA is about to complete. This we do in order to produce quality estimates. Once the work SLA duration is up, work scheduler (software agent) will check how many people have submitted their estimates. If more than or equal to minimum experts (1 person) have completed the work, the estimates are aggregated.

Let us discuss this with an example with sample timelines.

19 Sep (16:00 Hrs) – Work Type 'Estimation' instance is generated by Service Request Initiator in 'Engage Us' area.

19 Sep (20:00 Hrs) – Work Scheduler ran and generated work offers for this work instance for 3 experts (selected randomly but restricted by the number of work offers already in their platter). Already loaded experts are selected in the end. A max time frame to accept the work offer is provided for in the generated work offers. Lets say that all 3 of them need to accept the work offer by 17:00 Hrs on 20 Sep.

20 Sep (08:00 Hrs) – First expert accepted work offer. He is notified time to complete the Job (22 Sep 19:30 Hrs).

20 Sep (10:00 Hrs) – Second expert accepted work offer. He is also notified time to complete the Job (22 Sep 19:30 Hrs).

20 Sep (19:00 Hrs) – Third expert tried to accept the offer in his plate but couldn't as the time to accept is up.

20 Sep (20:00 Hrs) – Work Scheduler ran again and saw that 2 experts have accepted but the third one was late so it generated one more offer for next expert in the line (fourth one) and asked him to accept by 22 Sep 15:00 Hrs.

21 Sep (14:00 Hrs) – First expert submitted estimates. 200 person days

21 Sep (14:30 Hrs) – Fourth expert accepted offer and he is notified the time to complete the Job (22 Sep 19:30 Hrs).

22 Sep (12:00 Hrs) – Second expert submitted estimates- 250 person days.

22 Sep (19:00 Hrs) – Fourth expert submitted estimates- 180 person days.

22 Sep (20:00 Hrs) – Scheduler sees that three experts have submitted estimates (1st, 2nd and 4th experts) and hence the count of people submitted work is more than minimum (1 expert). It also sees that the time to complete the work is up (22 Sep 19.30 Hrs). As soon as these conditions are met for the work instance, the estimates are aggregated and the mean is calculated.

Mean = (200 + 250 + 180) / 3 = 210 person days

Deviation from mean is also calculated

                                    Associate 1 – 5%

                                    Associate 2 – 19%

                                    Associate 3 – 14 %

Service credits are given to each associate based on the number of relevant pages of requirements submitted by service request initiator (There will be separate work offers for people who will submit relevant page count in the documents before estimation experts begin. It is not shown in the sequence above). More are the pages in requirements document, more you earn. Since this page count is constant for each associate, their credits will be equal but the there will be difference in their earnings based on the deviations from mean as written about in 'General Payment Policy'.

A quick life cycle of Estimation Service is as under.

Ø        Service Request Initiator submits work

Ø        Scheduler generates work offers to review documents and submit relevant page counts

Ø        Relevant page counts are aggregated and will be used to credit estimators

Ø        Scheduler generates work offers for estimation work

Ø        Estimation figures submitted by estimation experts are aggregated

Ø        Aggregated estimates are sent for review to master

Ø        Estimation figures are shared with initiator after approval (or rejection).

In the above lifecycle, estimators are paid for as mentioned above. People who submit relevant page count and the people in master role will be paid at a flat rate. See the payment rate chart below. These rates are subject to change any time without prior notice.
